The 2025 model year for the Ford Ranger will see few differences from the previous year, and what’s changing is largely cosmetic. Motor Trend tells us that the colors Ruby Red Metallic, Desert Sand and Marsh Gray are new to the Ranger’s palette, while Cactus Gray, Iconic Silver and Hot Pepper Red are discontinued. Ford has introduced a Black Appearance package, adding black accents to the grille, bumper and wheels.

2025 Ford Ranger’s Power, Performance, and Off-Road Features Make it Ready for Adventure. The Ranger is powered by a 270-hp 2.3-liter turbo-4 delivering 270 horses; an available 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 that drives that number up to 315. Both engines are paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission and either rear- or four-wheel drive. Should you be looking to hit the trail, the trim you should consider is the Raptor. Its V-6 cranks out 405-horsepower to give you ample thrust while on the trail and multiple drive modes optimize performance.

Maximum towing capacity for the 2025 Ford Ranger should also remain the same—properly equipped pickups can tow up to 7,500 pounds and haul up to 1,805 pounds when properly equipped. As of this writing, an extended-cab, 6-foot bed is rumoured to be introduced for 2025, which will offer more payload capacity. (The bed currently measures 5-feet.)

There’s been a long-standing rumor of a Ranger Hybrid in the works, but we’re not sure of its release for 2025. That may come in the model year.

There’s no new news on the tech front, but it’s worth taking a look at a second time, as there are so many features to make your drive a pleasurable one. Standard to the Ranger’s lower trims is a 10.0-inch infotainment touchscreen, while higher-end versions get a 12.0-inch unit. Both come with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and over-the-air updates.

The Ranger XL (base) model features a 8.0-inch digital gauge display, while the upper trims feature a 12.4-inch digital cluster. USB charging ports are standard in all trims. A 10-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system and a 360-degree camera are options as is an available wireless charging pad.
