For 2027, two new Broncos join the lineup: the classy Bronco Filson and hard-hitting Bronco RTR. As part of a partnership with the outdoor outfitter of the same name, the Filson combines trail capabilities with a more refined performance, compliments of a specially tuned version of the Raptor’s twin-turbo, 3.0-liter EcoBoost V6. Meanwhile, the new Bronco RTR is a high-speed dune racer aimed at tighter budgets. If you want to speed through the sand but can’t afford a Bronco Raptor, this new trim model is for you!
The all-new Bronco Filson borrows its 3.0-liter twin-turbo EcoBoost V6 from the high-performance Bronco Raptor (418 horsepower, 440 pound-feet of torque), with a few adjustments. Since the Filson is designed to put a premium spin on outdoor adventure, its powertrain is specially tuned to deliver a more refined performance.
Designed for drivers who crave high-speed desert performance but lack a Raptor-sized budget, the Bronco RTR aims to conquer dunes with standard high-clearance suspension, 33-inch tires, and a turbocharged 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine that borrows the Raptor’s 1,000-watt cooling fan.
Plus, the Bronco RTR’s lighter front end helps you glide over the sand without digging in. And its unique, race-derived anti-lag system delivers instant thrust to help you power out of a problematic sand wash. Better still, when you add the rugged Sasquatch package to your Bronco RTR, you’ll automatically get the HOSS 3.0 suspension setup, complete with FOX racing shocks. Just like the Bronco RTR, these Fox internal-bypass shocks are specially designed for off-road speed, helping you push past the limits of the standard HOSS 1.0 framework.
Unfortunately, the 2027 Bronco doesn’t switch to the latest Ford infotainment system. On the bright side, though, its SYNC 4 technology comes standard on every trim model, including a 12-inch touchscreen and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Most trim models feature the 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine (300 hp, 325 lb-ft of torque). The Stroppe Edition boosts speed with its 2.7-liter turbo V6 (330 hp, 415 lb-ft). And the Raptor and Filson models are the strongest of all, thanks to their 3.0-liter turbo V6 (418 hp, 440 lb-ft).
