So, is the 2026 Ford F-150 better than the 2025 version? Truthfully, there aren't any major differences between these model years! However, the 2026 F-150 introduces a few new items, like the Ford Connectivity Package. Standard on every trim model, it includes a one-year Wi-Fi subscription, letting passengers connect up to 10 devices at a time.

You can also choose from three new paint colors for 2026: Avalanche, Argon Blue, and Ruby Red (more on this below). And you can now make a one-time BlueCruise purchase that gives you a minimum of seven years' worth of hands-free highway cruising (or more if the service is still around seven years from now).

Changes to the 2026 Ford F-150

Each F-150's performance varies quite a bit, depending on options like body style, axle ratio, and engine selection. Between these two trucks, model year also makes a difference. While most of the F-150's performance capabilities remain the same from 2025 to 2026, there are a few small differences.

Equipped with the PowerBoost hybrid engine, the 2026 F-150 gains trailer-style strength, towing up to 11,600 pounds (versus 11,200 pounds). However, the 2025 F-150 PowerBoost truck actually hauls bigger payloads, maxing out at 1,815 pounds (compared to 1,740 pounds for the 2026 hybrid).

The other change involves the Coyote engine. A 2025 F-150 truck featuring this 5.0-liter V8 engine can tow up to 12,900 pounds (versus 12,800 pounds max for 2026) and haul payloads of up to 2,225 pounds (compared to 2,235 pounds max for 2026).

On the other hand, both trucks can tow best-in-class figures of up to 13,500 pounds, thanks in part to the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine. The same V6 also helps these F-150 model years haul max payloads of 2,440 pounds!
